International Academic Forum Heidelberg Hengstberger Award
Since 2004, the Klaus-Georg and Sigrid Hengstberger Award has been awarded annually to outstanding young researchers at Ruperto Carola. Starting in 2026, the prize money of €15,000 will enable the winners to hold a symposium, the “Ruperto Carola Symposium at the IWH: an award for young researchers.”
Young researchers with a doctorate who are under 37 years of age and work at Heidelberg University are eligible to apply. Collaboration with researchers from other institutions are accepted as well . The award supports all disciplines: natural sciences and medicine as well as humanities and social and societal sciences.
The award ceremony for the Klaus-Georg and Sigrid Hengstberger Award takes place during the anniversary celebrations ("Jahresfeier") of the Ruprecht-Karls University.
