Veranstaltungen Confiscation as an instrument of modern criminal law and policy in the EU

International workshop on the significance of various confiscation (forfeiture) regimes in controlling and preventing crime (included violations of EU sanctions), in particular serious crimes with cross-border dimension. Invited will be researchers in criminal law with particular interest in the confiscation regimes in order to discuss the relevant current issues on application of the instrument(s) of confiscation: the concept of modern criminal law and the importance of confiscation instrument(s) in this model, the methods of examining the effectiveness of confiscation, the observed problems with cross-border cooperation in executing confiscation orders, the possible alternatives to confiscation, the necessity to further harmonize the confiscation provisions at the EU level.
